Zillertal - 8 days

A - To Fügen 33 kmThis opening tour first takes you to the centre of Fügen. Here you will find the pointed Maria Himmelfahrtskirche, the most important gothic church in the Ziller Valley. Then you cycle on towards the river Inn to return over the other bank of the river Ziller.B - To Innsbruck 56 kmOn this route, you soon leave the Ziller Valley to head along the river Inn on the Innradweg to Innsbruck. Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol, has many medieval buildings including the Franciscan Hofkirche and the Fürstenburg, the 15th-century city residence of the Habsburgs with its famous golden roof.C - To Mayrhofen 44 kmA route to the end of the Zillertal. Through numerous villages and hamlets with typical Austrian 'gemütlichkeit'. Lots of small-scale agriculture, 'Gasthöfer' and guesthouses. The furthest point is Mayrhofen, a well-known winter sports resort. It is also very popular with tourists in summer.D - To Kufstein 32 or 48 kmThis route heads north along the Inn to famous Kufstein. Here you will find an imposing castle and you can enjoy an organ concert daily at noon that can be heard all over the city. On the way, you'll pass through Rattenberg (Austria's very pretty and smallest town) and Wörgl, a suitable stopping point.E - To Schwaz 29 or 45 kmThe final route goes to Schwaz, where you can visit one of Europe's largest silver mines. You cycle back along the other bank of the river Inn. In Jenbach, you can visit the Jenbach Museum, with an overview of ancient utensils in Tyrol.F - Round trip Penkenjoch 12km/3.5 hoursFor the sixth day, we offer a hike to the Penkenjoch so you can see the Zillertal from above too. By private transport or train, you will travel to Mayrhofen. The Penken gondola will take you to an altitude of 1765 metres. You climb gradually to the Penkenjoch. Then you descend through alpine meadows and along a 'Naturlehrpfad' to the 'Almstüberl.' There you will find a 'Sonnenterrasse' with great views. Without too much difference in altitude, you walk back to the cable car station.
